Phishing emails are fraudulent messages designed to steal personal information, passwords, or financial information. If you receive a suspicious email in your UW-Superior inbox, do not click any links, open attachments, reply to the sender, or provide personal information.
Reporting Phishing in Outlook
- Open 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗸 and locate the suspicious email.
- Select the email. You do not need to click any links or open any attachments in the message.
- Select 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 from the Outlook toolbar or menu.
- Select 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 or 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴.
- Confirm the report if prompted.
The message will be submitted for review and may be moved out of your inbox. The location and wording of the reporting option may vary slightly depending on the version of Outlook you are using. (Microsoft Support)
